The course will provide students with skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Additional precautions
  • Aspects of infectious diseases including opportunistic organisms & pathogens
  • Basic microbiology
  • Disease transmission
  • Effective hand hygiene
  • Good personal hygiene practice
  • Surface cleaning
  • Sharps handling and disposal techniques
  • Identification and management of infectious risks in the workplace
